Budget PC for the 'Rents!

Okay guys, I'm looking for some help with a very budget build for the parents. Their computer is kind of crapping out on them, probably from the Motherboard and the fact that it's a 4 year old Gateway where the only things upgraded were the PSU and GPU.

Anyway, I'm looking for some feedback on a budget build for Christmas. This is not a gaming computer, and I'll most likely upgrade the RAM down the line. All prices are in Canadian dollars, as they are on the Canadian NCIX site (They're the only site that deals with Interac online. If Amazon did, I'd love them forever).

Specs:

Before Windows, the cost is roughly $358. I'll probably end up putting Windows on it, since they aren't exactly the most technologically advanced people.

Let me know what you guys think, make any suggestions. My budget is $500 after Windows. I think the 500W PSU might be overkill, but it was the cheapest 80+ Bronze NCIX has, and will allow me to put in a Graphics Card later if necessary.

Thanks, happy gaming.

P.S. This will also be similar to a personal build I'll be making later, but with a GPU and most likely a 6xxx series CPU.

logan posted a 400 dollar kill your console pc.

I know he did, but I looked for the parts on NCIX.ca, and the cost was over 400 bucks, sadly. So with Windows, it was over my budget, unfortunately.

so canadian build? I'll get on it

They have operating systems for the elderly, what do they do on it? Internet and email, if you set ubuntu up properly, its great for older folks

Lol, I appareciate the idea ipat, but they aren't elderly. They're middle aged, but they aren't like very techy. But hey, that is a very good idea, and I'll look into it. You may have just saved me 100 bucks. Also, can anyone give me a Ubuntu/Linux friendly Anti-Virus? Thanks.

don't get that MSI mobo, its pretty shitty, they only have good highend stuff, their cheapo shit is well shit it has 3 VRMs for a APU that has both a GPU and CPU on it, uh no

grab the Cheapo Asus FM2 mobo

the only good thing EVGA makes is GPUs thier mobos and PSUs are pretty shitastic
