Budget APU Build

I'd like to save as much money as I can :P

i thought you were doing an apu build.

I was, but really, after all the suggestions. The CPU/GPU is the same price for so much more performance. But I think if you really want an APU system. Something like I had before was good.

For the OP's given budget, they can get A LOT more performance by going with a discreet CPU / GPU build. The 760K with GTX 750ti is a killer combo at this price point.

Yeah, I looked up some bookmarks and the APU can run BF4 on Low-Med, but the 750 TI can run it High-Ultra.

i would get the MSI FM2+ A88XI AC board.

The thing about APU builds is that unless you are limited to a very small form factor (where you can't fit a discreet GPU) it doesn't make sense to buy the top-end APU like the A10-7850K.

If you are very tight on cash but want to get into PC gaming, it does make sense to buy a more mid-range APU like the A10-7700K or the up coming A8-7600 and game on that while you save up to add a discreet GPU later on. The 7700K and 7600 are both still very capable quad-core CPU's that can drive fairly powerful mid-range GPU's (and will be even more capable as mantle becomes more widely implemented), so you're not really losing out on good gaming CPU prowess and you're not spending more on something you won't use as much later on (the iGPU).

It's all about balance and performance per dollar. If it's in your budget to go with a CPU/GPU combo that will almost always the best option.

The testing that Linus and Luke did (which cooperman posted earlier) outlines this very clearly.

Link that? I found something, but I don't know if it's what you were suggesting.

It's really expensive though. About double what mine is.

the one i posted is an ITX board.

Okay. But that board looks really nice. But if you can find a link to it, and it's in the price range I might use it. Did it have built in Wi-Fi thing?

i think only the itx one i showed you has it.
