Brian Jacques Esque Books

So, I have never been one for casual reading.  But, I recently came across my collection of Brian Jacques books.  I was wondering if anyone knew of any books that have a similar genre.

I hope this could encourage me to get into reading more often.

My brother read them when he was a kid. He seem to like them. Not sure how old you are but i think these books are meant for young kids. But thats not always a bad thing.

While I'll not too familiar with Brian Jacques I've only read 1 or 2 of his books... Have you tried out Piers Anthony "Xanth" series? They are fairly easy reads for casual like yourself... And similar enough iirc...  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanth

Yeah I'm 20 and remember reading them when I was younger.  These seemed the only free-time books that I remember liking.  Just trying to narrow down to the genre/style.
