I’m trying to find info whether my motherboard supports booting from a PCIe expansion card with a pair of NVMe drives and I can’t find anything. I’ve gone through the manual, but didn’t see anything that would provide an answer for me. Anyone know how to figure this out?
My motherboard is a Gigabyte MS03-CE0.
Pgae 85 doesn’t have any mention of anything that resembles PCIe devices. So I’m taking it as a no?
It should almost certainly support booting off NVMe drives in PCIe slots. However just ensure CSM is disabled for best results.
One small potential gotcha is PCIe bifurcation. The PCIe slot that the NVMe drive expander goes in needs to support bifurcation into separate 4x PCIe lanes. I’d assume a server platform can do this, but check the manual.
