I have several domains registered with Enom (Tucows) and have a hosting plan with Bluehost.
I am trying to connect my external domains with Bluehost. I follow the normal steps but sometimes the free SSL is installed and other times it is not. What am I doing wrong? I am NOT using the WordPress addon.

Not sure of the process but my domains are through Cloudflare and my server is on Linode. I registered my certs through Let’s Encrypt! And installed them server side. The issue that took me a while was that Cloudflare has an SSL proxy service to hide your cert and your domain info to function like a proxyserver. With that feature on, THE SSL handshake between the server and the client would not work and so the server would deny the client. I had to turn that off and set it to just pass through and let tmy server handle everything.
If you cannot get the free cert to install, try doing it through Let’s Encrypt! Also arr you using Apache2 or Nginx?
And man, Tucows is a name that I have not heard in like 15 years.
