So, There have been a few threads recently about this Mic and i happened to pick one up today because it was the best option in my immediate area.
Enjoy.
P.S. I didn't mention the size, you can find the measurements online and the actual mic itself is roughly the size of a grapefruit.
OK thanks man but i do have a question after using it for a while how well is the sensitivity, does it pick of a lot of background noise?
My room is fairly quiet and this is a fairly directional mic. It picks up audio pretty nicely in the direction it's facing, and picks up a little of what's behind it.
So for background noise, yes and no. I've found that since my computer is slightly in its LOS and 2 feet away or so, the fan is audible to the mic as you can hear throughout the video and especially when i remove the sweater that I was using as some sound dampening.
However, the sound from outside (There are 2 closed windows behind it) either isn't registered or is extremely low in volume. It also gives it a bit of a 3 dimensional sound since it picks up the reverberations of my voice off of the walls slightly. I find this to be a more pleasing effect, makes it sound more like I'm just talking in a room rather than talking directly into a mic/your ear.
As far as sensitivity goes, It picks up what's in front of it very well to the point that you can actually hear me roll up my sleeves, my watch jiggle a bit, and the sounds of my mouse clicking. I've turned up the volume as far as I can get windows to push it and was unable to hear any electrical noise, which was a big + for me personally that there isn't a constant hiss underneath all the recordings like you get with headsets and other mics I've used. This is partly because of the USB interface which has the pros of delivering more power than 3.5, a digital signal less prone to interference, and the cable having a fairly thick coat of plastic around it. the downside of USB is just that it's constantly polling, or at least that's the downside that i care about the most.
Hope that helped, so far I definitely recommend it as a cheap semi-directional mic that's good for streaming and recording one person. It's not nearly as good as whatever the hell logan has on his desk, but for someone like me who uses it to voice chat and stream it's quite nice for the price.
I would suggest turning the volume up on the mic
