Best tool for migrating on-prem file servers to SharePoint Online

We’re planning to migrate our on-prem file shares to SharePoint Online and I’m looking for a reliable migration tool. I’ve shortlisted a few options so far: GoodSync, SyncBack, and GS RichCopy 360, but I haven’t used any of them for a SharePoint migration specifically.
Has anyone here used these (or something better) for this kind of move? Mainly concerned about preserving permissions, handling long file paths, and transfer stability with large data sets. Would love to hear real user experiences before we commit.

Thanks!

I’ve used this for more than one migration. You’ll probably still have to deal with permissions but it deals with a lot of the broken issues windows and onedrive has with files (it still has limits). It’s free to give it a look or use. If it’s part the question, you’ll want something else for mail.

Do I recommend it, no. but quite likely, whatever you, or especially I think you’ll be doing it anyway.

Used to be that MAX_PATH would bite you at anywhere north of 260 characters in the combination of path and filename length, regardless of SharePoint or SharePoint Online. Seems that is up to 400 now in certain scenarios, but I can definitely say you should be very cautious with that as it is a pain to fix after the fact. Fix it before the move, if you can.

So my final list was GoodSync and Gs Richcopy 360, we reviewed both and finally used Gs Richcopy 360 , it is fast, simple and handy
