Look at getting a per of superlux headphones, as they seem to be the best value out there.
There are a few pairs of cans in their range, wondering which model the forum would reccomend.

668b's are the go to, as for myself I have the 681Evo's with Hifiman pads (A must for the 668's or the 681's)

There's pretty much a split 50/50 between the 668 and the Evo in terms of preference. As @DJJHUGHES says, upgraded earpads are a high priority for these, as that is their biggest fault.
In a recent survey we did we found the Evo was recommended slightly more often by third party sites, but by slightly I mean 1 more time out of 12 sources.
I typically recommend the 668 out of force of habit, but I have not had a chance to test them side by side.

I have the 668b's and really like them. They seem really good for the price (got mine for around €30 on Thomann) but get quite uncomfortable after an extended period of time. Replace the pads like @DJJHUGHES and @AAJoe suggested. I've nothing to really compare them to though. They're open back which is nice and gives them a nice sound-stage, however, everyone can hear what you're hearing.
