Apologies for the repost, I believe I have previously posted this query this in the wrong category.
I am hard looking at a Strix Halo 128GB Mini-PC to be a box-in-a-corner in my VR room, but I was wondering if there was any recommendations for similar machines that may be better for this usecase. My main concern would be power draw since my apartment does not have utilities included in rent, and I’d much rather drop $2k for something that pulls less power than my refridgerator than build something that’s $750 that pulls more power than my oven. Lower watt hours is better. I heard that Strix Halo would be the best usecase for that since most boxes draw ~200-350W and are really great (on paper) for VR games, especially with the advent of the Steam Frame and it’s streaming stick magic. I figure I can install SteamOS or equivelant on it, split the RAM 50/50, and it should last me for a good decade without needing to be upgraded. Especially since I (used to/ plan on going back to) frequenting Resonite, the VR multiplayer Unity Engine Editor social platform.
Again, if there’s some Mini-PC or laptop or ITX/microATX i can get that’s cheaper than a Strix Halo and has similar or less power draw please let me know. Thanks :3
