Best HDD for Recording Video

Hey everyone,

I've been having a lot of trouble with transfer speeds/frame rate when recording to my HDD when i'm using DXTory. Even when I use OBS or Xsplit I'm getting choppy videos.

Here's my rig:

I-7 3770k o/c'd to 4.4ghz

Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe mITX mobo

8g Corsair Dominator ram (the old red ones with the fins)

Gigabyte GTX 660 OC graphics card

Kingston Hyper-X 120 gig SSD (for my os)

WD Black 1tb HDD for mass storage

750w Corsair TX750 power supply

When I use the lagarith lossless codec with dxtory, i get incredibly low frames in games like League of Legends and even AAA titles like SC: Blacklist. I've heard that transfer rates determine fps in recording and my hdd is (at max) 111mb/sec from what dxtory says. If this seems a little confusing (read: poorly written) i'm incredibly tired and it's early in the morning :/

If you would, let me now if it's my system or if it's just the HDD. Maybe i got a bum one.

Thanks in advance!

stop recording at 60 fps (youtube rencodes to 30 anyway)

i'm recording @ 30. even tried 29.97 fps. i don't think i could run 60 if i tried

i would say try obs instead of dxtory

I'd record to your SSD then dump it on your HDD, or lower your bitrate
