Best frequency driver for Proxmox on AMD EPYC 7502 CPU?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to optimize Proxmox for low latency and best performance on an AMD EPYC 7502 CPU. I’ve been testing acpi-cpufreq and amd-pstate-epp (active mode) with the performance governor.

amd-pstate-epp: Frequencies range from 400 MHz to 2.18 GHz, but it boosts to 3.35 GHz. Attempts to adjust scaling_min_freq and scaling_max_freq didn’t work.

acpi-cpufreq: Frequencies range from 1.50 GHz to 2.50 GHz, also boosts to 3.35 GHz.

I’ve reverted to acpi-cpufreq but wonder if this is the best option. Is there a way to achieve better results with amd-pstate-epp or should I stick with acpi-cpufreq?

Thanks in advance!

I am also interested in the answer to @PapaGiga’s question. I couldn’t find anything online about which driver would be better, acpi-cpufreq or acpi-cpufreq with the performance governor. I guess @PapaGigas will have to try finding the answer to his question himself. I hope he does.
