Best Brand For R9 270/270X

I'm building a $400-$500 gaming PC, and I get it now-R9 270/270X is the way to go. What is the most reliable brand of graphics card for this card? I want the best performance possible, but I'd like to stay around $150 if that is so possible. I only really receive money during the holidays and my birthday in October, so it may be a while before I can build this.
Thanks for your time!

I've owned the R9-270x the ASUS Direct CU II Version. and it was pretty good i've never really had issues with it. but at that price range you're really limited to what R9-270s you can get. but overall the in that price range, the best you can probably get is the ASUS or XFX model. one thing to take into consideration, XFX is the one of the only few vendors that offers Lifetime warranty with their cards. so $150 to around $170 i'd sort of push between these two.

or if you want the best, you can grab an R9-270x Toxic Edition by Sapphire it's like $210. (This is Sapphires Top of the line card) but realistically at that price range, you could probably grab an R9-285. i've seen a few for around $180.

Pretty much sums it up.

I have used the cheaper Sapphires and even the Club3D R9 270 (got it for $99 on sale. Steal). They have all been solid. I wouldn't recommend getting an R9 270X though. Just get the 270. They are the same the X just has a higher clock speed. You can OC a 270 to 270X or faster speeds.

Like Kat said though $200 will get you a 280(X)/285 or for like $30 more a 290. So if you have that much to spend grab one of those cards over the 270(X)

I love my 270x Vapor-X. Newegg has it for around $200 right now which is ridiculous, but Amazon has it for right around your preferred price point. Going with a used card could save you even more.

The link in your previous topic to a used 7950 would also be a good money saving option. It will perform close to the same in most situations as a new R9 270X.

7950 will completely outperform the R9 270X, as the 7950 is Tahiti and the R9 270X is just a Pitcairn rebadge.

For me, AMD GPU brands go in this order:

  1. Sapphire
  2. Gigabyte
  3. XFX
  4. ASUS
  5. HIS
  6. Powercolor
  7. Anything else
