Automount on Tahoe

Hi,
I’m running Tahoe beta 6, and can’t for the life of me configure automount of SMB shares from Truenas server.
Method from previous versions with auto_master, auto_smb doesn’t work.

Did anyone succeed in automounting SMB shares on Tahoe?

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks!

Update…
I found an app that could have solved the problem, but it has a showstopper bug.
App is called “Network Share Mounter” developed by FAUmac Team @ FAU.

Bug is that when you add a smb share with username and password app defaults to kerberos auth and on reboot fails to mount shares. Also, you can’t change the default authentification method in preferences.

If someone (developers perhaps?) have an idea it would be awsome!

Finally solved mounting SMB shares permanently on macOS Tahoe.

The solution is LaunchAgents not automount.

If anyone is interested, I could write a guide.

I don’t know why, but my Truenas SMB share always seems to show up after reboot. Is this a Mac problem or server side issue?

I have M4 air 26.5 with Tailscale exit node on the same server.

It’s hard to tell, without more info, but I would guess it’s a macOS problem.

I have several sites that use TrueNAS as a file server. Windows and Linux have little or no problems with smb or nfs shares, just Apple is problematic.

The traditional auto_master method for SMB automounting has indeed been problematic on macOS Tahoe, particularly with TrueNAS and other NAS devices .
