i have been searching a program that rips audio from video, in addition to a program that will let me record my voice when i use my microphone for reviews and commentaries. does anyone know any good programs?

Blender and audacity. You can use blender (top link) to convert the video to an mp3 file (audio only).
You can use audacity to record your microphone and edit the recording.
