So i just got my Ath-ad900x and I am getting some very slight static from the left speaker. If i turn off the volume it gets much worse. I'm using onboard audio and have a Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard. I also tried it on my HTC M7 and on my laptop and there's no static. With my Astro A40s i almost never got any static except a few times on start up that usually went away after some time.
Since It's working fine on my phone and laptop I'm thinking it might be my motherboard not powering the headphones correctly. In that case would getting a cheap DAC fix this? If so what DAC should i buy (nothing above 60$ preferably less)? Also can i use a equalizer with a DAC?
