I just purchased this brand new Asus motherboard a month ago and accidentally bent a couple CPU socket pins. I tried returning it to B&H camera, but they sent it back saying that they don’t take back motherboards with bent pins but it was worth a try. As this motherboard cost me a pretty penny, I was wondering if there’s a service that would replace the CPU socket? once fixed, I can sell it.
There are services that replace sockets, but their success, reputability and price varies.
Even Asus usually offers that service, though the specific socket matters.
Newer sockets are usually harder to get, at least for a while.
Larger sockets are harder to replace.
Asus is probably still your best bet.
Though, pins can be bent back, did that already on that exact model. Twas ok, there are worse sockets and pins for it.
Head to your nearest chinatown, ask around at phone repair shops
