Asus WRX80-SAGE SE WiFi / 128GB Hynix 3200 MHz LR-DIMM [HMABAGL7A2R4N-XS]

Hi Guys,

Im using ASUS WRX80 SAGE SE-WiFi (Bios Ver 0602) (BMC ver 1.13) alongwith the Threadripper Pro 3995WX. The system works perfectly and posts just fine with the following memory modules

8x 32GB ECC R-DIMMS (Micron 3200Mhz) [MTA36ASF4G72PZ-3G2E2UG]
8x 64GB ECC R-DIMMS (Micron 3200Mhz) [MTA36ASF8G72PZ-3G2E1]

However when trying to use 8x 128GB Hynix 3200 MHz LR-DIMMS (HMABAGL7A2R4N-XS) the system fails to post and bios post code is stuck at AD.

Would really appreciate any assistance on this.

Thank you for the wealth of information that you’ll provide.

Thanking you in advance.

There are only 2 128GB DIMMs on the QVL. They are both slower speeds and Samsung.

Try the SuperMicro WRX80 board. My guess is you’ll have better stability at those DIMMs sizes / speeds? Listed as supporting 3200Mhz.

Man, that’s a gorgeous board… if I didn’t need Thunderbolt I’d use it in a heartbeat.

Tricky ASUS… those two rows are actually the same SKU! LOL

Your motherboard is not showing support for LRDIMM only 128GB RDIMM.
