Hi, new here, in learning and experimenting phase.
I have a Asus m5a99fx Pro R2.0 motherboard which I’m trying to run Tesla K80 in a VM on proxmox.
Everything seems to have been successful other than being able to enable “above 4g decoding”
I have looked through the BIOS options, could not fine anything similar.
Is there ANY way of enable 4g decoding on this mobo?
Thank you!
I don’t think it was a thing back in AM3+ era.
There are instructions to enable hidden above 4G decoding if there is support but no option in BIOS:
Disclaimer:
Never used it, have no idea if you can brick your system.
Hadn’t seen ReBAR/4G+, on AM3+
If not mistaken, Intel Gen10 / AMD-400 series chipset, would be eldest stuff, hosting it
should i give up on this setup then?
can you recommend an affordable Mobo that would work well with K80?
Intel Gen10 CPUs, would mean 400 series mainboards [B460, …]
AMD 400 series mainboards, may be bit of crapchute to Ryzen options*
[*unless its declared, what BIOS is applied - telling what oldest supported CPU series]
This would be your floor, regarding natively supported platforms
… I could mention X299, but them Gen10x CPUs, are still notably pricey
[Unless you can see making use, of the extra PCIe available]
