“Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response” - known for causing a pleasurable tingling sensation for certain people due to visual, audible, or tactile feedback.
Feel free to post ASMR content below.
Personally, I don’t have ASMR, but I do get minor sensations from it and it’s nice to listen to in the midst of stressful periods (school, mostly). Also, some ASMRtists (as they call them) are great at social justice - they’ve helped me fight some emotional issues I’ve had. The ASMR community is [usually] pretty nice.
TimberWick candles are amazing:
I found out how much I love Icelandic accents. The articulation is beautiful. This one includes some nice feeling/scratching textures as well.
I listen to ASMR videos predominantly to help me go to sleep at night, or sometimes as background noise to help me focus on homework. I remember getting ASMR tingles as a kid and having no clue what they were, but absolutely loving it. Didnt find out about ASMR videos on youtube until about 2011. good stuff.
Anyway, one video that put me to sleep a great many times is -
And one that is perfect as background noise -
The first ASMR video i watched was a haircut video by glisteningwhisper, who unfortunately has since deleted her videos and channel from youtube
Yeah, I think it's rather unfortunate that ASMRtists like that have crept into the community recently. There are still a lot of great ones out there, though, and the community is usually respectful of those who don't boast cleavage and focus more on the auditory side of things.
@Zibob Wow, that's really cool! I'm not one much for roleplays, but there are some impressive sound and visual effects nonetheless.
Check out a dude called Ephemeral Rift. He does these amazing character based ASMR sessions, most of which are dystopian futures with surprisingly indepth and detailed characters. I personally don't experience ASMR (not anymore at least), but I watch his videos anyway because they are entertainment in of themselves.
I've never enjoyed ASMR personally because of the microphones. It's more of the bass of the voice and their breath that makes me enjoy the feeling of someone talking softly in my ear irl, and I just can't get that realistic ear-whisper vibe from ASMR videos.
Found this by chance a while back from his other channel Some pretty decent stuff, not that I really have much to benchmark it on Plays fallout 4 n gta n stuff too
Well it was nice while it lasted. I no longer have ASMR triggers or I have made myself completely jaded with it. I really hate this has happened as I was enjoying it. Basically I feel like that part of me got burned out. I may try it again in about 6 months.
