Sorry – I meant to ask where had you seen speculation that it does? I think the Cablematters one is just a signal amplifier and won’t repeat the signal if there is no input.

Also, it didn’t amplify the signal enough to improve compatibility between Macs and the Level1 KVM in my experience. Based on the description/reviews when I bought it, i got the impression that it’s primarily for VR headsets
