I received this email from TopWare today. I was sure that the Two Worlds 'franchise' was through and finished since there was a snafu with SouthPeak Games closing doors right before Two Worlds II launched. Also, wasn't the consensus on Two Worlds II simply, 'mediocre'? I'm surprised they got awards and have made enough money to not only begin development on a new game, but to update the engine in the previous.
Now don't get me wrong, I actually really enjoyed the original Two Worlds. I thought it was a quirky and 'so bad it's good' game. The story was dogshit but the game was solid in mechanics, especially spell crafting. My god the spell crafting put Oblivion to shame, it was incredibly well fleshed out and intricate. It wasn't a bad looking game either, definitely not the best but it looked presentable.
Two Worlds II on the other hand kept my attention for all of about 3 hours. Seeing the plethora of glitch videos after it launched was a good laugh but also a good reason to kind of leave it alone. From what I heard it had a similar attitude as the first, being that it had a sense of humour about it's obvious fourth-fiddle (at best) presence in the open world adventure RPG scene.
So, back to the start. We've got a third game coming, and I'm honestly asking myself, "Did anyone want this? Is there a devote cult following that has spent the last 6 years begging for a third game?"

So dark that making out any detail is difficult. Either intentional, or they wanted that aesthetic and it's complete coincidence. My general take is, "Looks good enough but not really even this-gen."
