A small but seemly growing number of us owners of the Aoostar WR Pro 5825U are encountering all kinds of stability issues right after the 1 year go pound sand out of warranty period. Best we’ve all figured is it is an issue in the power delivery and/or CPU power state changes and no bios power options have shown any effect. I wish this was DDR5 vs 4 so at least I had a better upgrade path. It really sucks as this was a great homelab/proxmox option before the WTR Max and the Minisforum machines came out. And as great as this was I also own an Aoostar R7 5825U as a proxmox backup server. Hopefully it doesn’t have the same issues i the future.
Mini summary of the troubleshooting:
Essentially the system will start off with random reboots and progress to full freezing. For me this happened over a few days. Others its a few weeks. Memtest will pass and stay running forever. Booting a live linux and immediately starting a stress test will also stay up. Cancel that stress test and it’ll crash. Leave it idle? crash. Normal workloads? crash. Search reddit and you’ll find threads on it.
