Anyone running FAR Manager?

Anyone running FAR Manager? How do you like it? I believe the creator is Russian/in Russia but has the project moved? Or will it be subject to hosting difficulties?

Unfortunately not.

A terminal-based file manager in windows.

I guess I haven’t used those since Norton/Midnight Commander back on DOS. The good old days

But interested to see that some still prefer to use this. I know there are several equivalents in Linux (try WSL?) that are quite extensive in their featureset.

Next time I boot up my Windows VM, I’ll check this out. It’s like retro gaming, but with files and folders.

Don’t get me wrong. I think in terms of productivity, this can be far superior to mouse dragging stuff in a GUI.

That looks like a website that you get drive by viruses from.
Maybe don’t post sus stuff? If the guy disappeared because of the war thats one thing, but rly we can never know.

How’d you find that anyways?

Github link is on that website. Get it from Github and compile it yourself if that’s more your thing.

There is nothing “sus” about Far. I have been using it since late 90s until I mostly moved on from Windows. It was literally the first app I would install on every fresh Windows system for almost 20 years. Its original author is the same guy who created WinRar.

Can one actually reasonably review the posted code? Now that AI is here, maybe we can use it to re-review the code?

Don’t see why not, available AI already reviews code on some repo services.
