Anyone running 9 NVME SSD with no issue on 3970x on Asus Zenith extreme Alpha II.
Planning on adding X4 2TB Samsung 980 Pro to my current 980 for boot drive and a mix of 970 Evo Plus.
yep its fine with 2x4 + 1 onboard but you might not be able to use dimm.2
it might also be fine w/dimm.2

In my setup ill be running all 5 onboard + 1 x4 asus pcie 4.0 nvme. So as long as i am under 10 nvme should be ok or with x5 pcie 4.0 drives could that be an issue?
