The title says it all, & I’m curious to know if anyone else on Windows 11 24H2 is STILL having problems with their WiFi after this update got installed.
I ask because I am in that very boat. ![]()

I actually completed a fresh install on my custom-built a week ago, & everything went fine, except for this, making me believe Microsoft is most likely to blame, but I can’t be 100% for sure. (From what I looked up, KB5052093 is supposed to have resolved the broken SSH connections issue, but since I still have “below-average” speeds on my machine, it gives me the impression that the issue either hasn’t been FULLY patched, or something else could be at hand. But I do know that everyone will have a different experience depending on the devices they are using, & what their setup is like.) And I have noticed the poor speeds when doing various things, like file downloads, during updates, even while trying to multi-task.
As for my system, here is the link to my components list: Part List - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse P600S ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker And for our home network setup, it’s in an 1100 square foot, single story house. The router is a Netgear RAX10 AX1800, while the access point for distributing the 5GHz band is a Netgear WAX204 AX1800. I personally set things up in both dashboards for the Netgear devices a few years ago, when we upgraded our gear, but I made sure to do my research, & that things look just right, the way they should be, which they do now, so nothing is at fault there. Heck, even both of them have the latest updates in-place, since I prefer to stay on top of that sort of thing anyway. I’m only about 25 ft away from the access point, & about 52 ft from the access point, but when I tried my troubleshooting, my speeds are slower vs the access point when I do a speedtest check. And the minor difference is that the AP does only 1000Mbps on the 5GHz band, whereas the router does 1200Mbps on the same band, but minor details. I do know I’m supposed to be getting a full gigabit out of the network as a whole, even though the network adapter on my motherboard is for WiFi 7, but I only have WiFi 6 gear in the household.
For a little info here, I ought to mention that I DO already have the latest drivers in-place, Windows updates, including the optional ones, latest bios version for my motherboard, etc. For anyone wondering, or about to suggest it, I would not be able to roll back to a previous version since I used the 24H2 iso on my USB installation media. As far as what I have tried in the way of troubleshooting, I did allude that I tried connecting to the router with worse results, but I normally connect to the access point instead anyway. I made sure that all my connections look good on the devices, which they do. I think I have even tried flushing my dns cache, which hasn’t helped either. I don’t really bother with tweaking my adapter settings, or with registry tweaks, though.
With all that being said, I am interested to know if anyone else is still facing this issue, or even if you did previously, what was it that helped to fix or resolve the issue? (I suspect that I might end up having to wait on Microsoft to release a more proper fix, IF what I assumed earlier is correct, but I guess we will have to see. though, I would like other confirmation just to be sure here.) And if there is anything that I can do regarding this? I wouldn’t be able to move my elaborate setup closer to the network gear, due to how things are inside, but I’m open to other suggestions. If any of you happen to have any other questions for me, or need further details, please don’t hesitate to ask, & I will be sure to reply. ![]()
