Kinda makes sense. They’re the most likely to be willing to pay for it. $298/mo is six times my phone bill.
I’m sure they need to recoup their investment, so rolling it out to an area that’s likely to have a high density of subscribers is just cost effective. That will let them start generating profit to roll out to other areas.
We’ll see how many holes develop in service. If I still lived in Powderhorn I’d be pissed at the developing chasm I occupied.
I should note that the pricing would make that entire area devoid of Comcast in short order. $35 for 50Mbit? A no-brainer.
I really think the 1GBPS service is perfectly fine. In all honesty if you’re saturating that link for a long period of time, then you’re most likely doing a LOT of seeding or running business applications.
I said that about 50mbps in 2012.
