Anybody else sick of eBay sellers?

Above is 1st unit they sent that artifacts worse and crashes.
Below is from replacement.

It’s like I should have expected this from Louis Rossmann’s NY real estate stories. This is that.

Lol, I’m sick of ebay buyers but completely unrelated issue.

GPUs are obviously a very specific problem. I would not buy any GPU on eBay unless it has a no-questions-asked 30-day return policy.

Still, 100% positive feedback is surprising for a mining recycler peddling GPUs with visible water damage…

And this is why I offer 60 days returns on all hardware, and have a test results screenshot to prove the parts aren’t trash. Buying GPUs on eBay is not a problem; sellers not testing their shit is the problem. Far too common for them to just lean on the return policy to catch the bad units because they’d rather be lazy than do a little bit of work.

Also sick of buyers but for so many other reasons.

As I mentioned in last clip/comment, I bought a Titan Xm a while back, DOA; negative feedback got deleted by eBay because “the issue was resolved” after a refund.

If they refunded every cent you paid, I think that’s ok. I’ve had many items arrive DOA that I validated and packed well. UPS will drop kick your delicate electronics across the country or world. If the seller makes it right, then it’s not on them.

The Titan had a blown, dead short, VRM. No post. Did UPS open it, put an arc welder on the VRM, then pack it back up and ship it?
They know they’re selling mining cast offs.
It’s not lieing; it’s commercial real estate.

I know, but as a policy, eBay can’t assign a specialist to your case to validate your claim and greenlight your negative review. 99.99999% of the world has no idea what a GPU is, much less a VRM. They can either allow negative reviews after full refund or not. Any more granular appeal process would put them out of business as they would need to employ experts in almost every field of product manufacturing to audit each complaint.

I’m not saying the seller doesn’t suck. I’m just saying there isn’t a realistic alternative so we all have to engage with ebay with appropriate caution and expectation.

Yeah, I think I’m done buying anything that was ever relavent for mining, through eBay.
Forgot I had this (the Titan)

I think you can, just look for auctions that allow returns and avoid suspiciously inexpensive listings. I have a 3070 and A4000 that I bought (probably from miners) that both work fine. The A4000 was even cleaned and repasted. Just don’t get your hopes up on a purchase until you’ve received and validated it.

The second one at least seems easier to miss without … I don’t know, is there a good catch all program to run for hours? I’ve heard of some Nvidia specific programs before.
I mean, I’m not trying to sell them, so… I shouldn’t have to bother knowing that much.

Wow, seems to have been improperly stored

I purchased a few GPUs off eBay over the years that were specifically mentioned to have been used for Crypto Mining Never had an issue with them Used them for Gaming, Streaming, and even some mining The first one of those is currently in my father’s rebuilt PC having been previously in my nephew’s, a gamer Years of use, still going strong
Now the two XFX cards I purchased new the last two years that only saw light gaming, VR, and streaming have both had their fans die Thankfully in warranty

Like seller said, it was “stored” in a warehouse for years… a humid warehouse full of mining rigs.
