Any good programs for editing .dat and other game files?

Hey there,

looking for a program for windows that will allow me to view and edit .dat files, rdata files and such like. If you have any you know of, please let me know.

You can simply open it in notepad.

They're not game files, they're just generic text files with a file extension rename most of the time.

I know but I don't read gobbledigoop. It opens as symbols and other crazy stuff, even with notepad++
