Anti Vibration Rubber Bolts/Screws Effective?

Just curious if these are effective. They seem quite interesting and cheap, so if they are in any way effective in reducing the vibrations, I might actually get several and change the screws in my case with these. Unless this is just another gimmick... LOL

Depends on the case, if you have a really good one they probably won't help much as good solid panels can't be made to vibrate but if it's cheaper with flimsy panels it can make a noticable difference.

alrightee, I got me a Bitfenix Shinobi case. I was noticing some vibrations for awhile now but suddenly stopped when I placed a aftermart cooler LOL I guess I won't be needing them after all =D

It really doesn't matter what case you have. Some fans are going to cause more vibration than others, and any way to reduce vibration is a great way to go.

I know from personal experience. I have a Cooler Master HAF X case, and I just recently replaced my five Sickleflow fans (one rear exhaust, and four on the H100) because I didn't think they were cooling my cpu well enough, and they were causing a lot of vibration and rattling noises. I replaced the four on the H100 with Corsair SP120 Performance fans, and I replaced the rear exhaust with a Gelid Wing PL12. The SP120's come with their own anti vibration system built in (they have rubber installed at each mounting point). The Gelid Wing came with rubber bolts, which I decided to use just to make it less noisy and cause less vibration.

The SP120's are decently loud, but they're not unbearable. I'm going to be getting a fan controller for them eventually though. I can't really tell if the rubber on the Gelid fan helped with noise or not because of this. On the other hand, I can feel the side of my case, and there is significantly less vibration than there was with the Sickleflow fans. I'd go as far to say that the vibration has been cut by at least 90 percent. I don't know if it's just because the fans have better build quality or if the rubber actually does help with the vibration though. I'd be willing to bet that it's a combination of both.

This isn't some cheap case we're talking about either. The HAF X has some of the thickest steel panels in the case market.

Locktight 242 does the trick for me with loose screws :p

Nice input guys, I will still probably skip out on these for now as the vibrations (thus humming noise) seemed to have lowered with the aftermarket cooler (might be the extra weight or something idk) LOL. But if ever the vibrations do return... I am seriously going to get me these =]

HDDs can be bad for vibrations aswell.

By the odd twists of fate... The vibrations seem to be more bothersome now. hahaha Ok I guess its time to get them anti-vibration rubbe bolts now.

What fans are you using, btw?

The first thing I though of when I saw this thread was the rubber washers on every side of every connection in the current nuclear subs.

I may watch to many military documentaries ... just sayin
