Android vs Ios

I know nothing about phones enlighten me. I'm leaning toward android because it sounds like there's more customization.

Phone calls lol. I've been holding out on smartphones.

In all honesty when buying a phone. If your not a power user ether or will work fine. many like iOS because its just user friendly but you will have to upgrade more regularly. Android is more customizable but its also not as polished. I prefer android because im a power user but if your not going to do anything more than make phonecalls, send texts and brows the internet plus maybe a few games here and there and your fine with buying a new phone in 2 years, get an iphone. If you are fine with accepting your phone will crash once in a while and have a slightly steeper learning curve but be more customization and last longer, Get android.

Simple

there are compromises with both

android has ads all over most of the applications. you have to be quite tech savvy to root your phone and keep it ad free

iphone is very expensive and not as interesting to the person who wants to tinker with their phone from a technology point of view

for the average user that doesn't really do anything much on his/her phone, other than make calls, text messages, browse the internet and play some games, the Android OS is the better option. plus, the fact that the Android OS is open source, any average user who wishes to fiddle with it has lots of options. Also it's way cheaper than what Apple's iOS offers. Who knows, you might get interested with the Android OS and start learning from it like I have.

Both are really annoying. Go to your carriers store and play around with everything. Whatever phone least makes you want to throw it against the wall, go with that one.

Then again, there is no shame in a dumb phone. If you're not inclined to take pictures of your food, play angry birds, look at dick pix on the bus and have a good sense of direction.

I'm looking at free phones with a contract. I don't have a preference with the OS. I phone 5c vs Samsung galaxy S4. I leaning toward the s4.

I have an S4 and it has been great. Bought it last year. Just as snappy now as it was then.

TouchWiz isn't that bad but I just added Nova Launcher and it is basically stock android. Has some nice features too. Decent battery life, gorgeous screen, good camera, and very good call quality. Plus, the removable battery and SD card slot is nice to have.
