Hi. I thought we could use a thread to discuss some neat stuff the community has/is/anticipates / can do with rooted android tellyphones. Just a chill spot to dump and argue ideas.
I’ll start.
In my experience of owning a software rooted device, the capabilities are endless.
anything is possible when the handset is not limited by the manufacturer. Run your own code.
With this kick eachother and go wild.
The one thing that keeps me rooting my phones is Viper4Android audio effects. the dynamic system effect is one of the few ways I’ve have found to give a good balanced boost to the sub 40hz range on any platform.
of course other things like faster updates, lineage os, and improved adblocking are nice. but those are just icing to me
Here’s my list of what I use Root for:
- Tweak CPU governors for crazy long battery life OR Crazy face melting Speed (and heat)
- Recording calls via the system mixer
- SSH to phone and vice versa
- Shell scripts and auto start scripts
- All my H4x0r tools, monitoring the WiFi’s and the NetW0rx
- Reverse Engineering applications and watching their traffic
- ‘Debugging’
- Snooping around the hardware and messing with the Qualcomm stack
