Security firm Checkpoint published article late last week revealing more than 40 Android applications from a Korean company on the Google Play Store that make money for its creators by creating fake advertisement clicks from infected devices.
All the malicious apps, developed by Korea-based Kiniwini and published under the moniker ENISTUDIO Corp, contained an adware program, dubbed Judy, that is being used to generate fraudulent clicks to generate revenue from advertisements.
The concerning aspect is that someone went to the length of developing games for children (PEGI 3) in order to then hide their adware in it.
This is possibly the largest malware campaign on Google Play Store to date and has already infected around 36.5 million Android devices with the ad-click software.
