Android 7.1.1 Random Crashes - LG V20

So I recently got a V20 and its been absolutely amazing so far. The camera is great, has a DAC built in, I love it. Though, now recently LG pumped out an update that destroys the display manager every few hours. IDK if android uses X.Org, or what the hell it has, but it crashes out and resets the whole desktop and doesn’t re-load the touch drivers afterward. What I wanted to do originally was put Lineage on my phone, but thats proven an issue since DirtySanta dosen’t actually work anymore. So… What are my options here?

What I’ve Done:
Factory Reset - no help
Reboot After Crash - no help
Complete Power Off and On - no help

What works after the crash: Getting a call will reset the touch drivers so I can actually hit the button.

If I don’t get a call I have to pull the thing open and pull out the battery, which isn’t difficult, I just don’t want to do it (the back comes off).

Help!

Which version do you have? H910, ls997 etc

edit; see if you can get root working using this recipe.
If success slap lineage OS on there and never look back.

I have an LS997 with Z6 or Z7 security firmware.

Woooaaahhhhh this even has the steps to strip out the security patches from the firmware.
