AMD Freesync with active displayport adapter on monitor with no displayport?

I am trying to build a computer and I want to have freesync. I found a monitor which I really like but it does not have displayport. I know a can use an active hdmi to displayport adapter to use AMD's "eyefinity" feature but will I also be able to utilize free sync? Products which I was hoping could work together so I could get free sync posted below.

First, what's your whole build/budget, 2nd country appears to be US

third, free-sync is display port only for now, and requires a free-sync monitor. minimum 1080p 144hz TN free-sync displays are $250 you could easily get one if you dropped your 390 to a 380, but you could also probably save money elsewhere in the build.

Your monitor needs to have it built in. Going through an adapter will not give you free-sync.

Do I really need free sync though?

It makes everything smoother, and a decent free-sync display with a mid range card is probably going to be a better experience than a high end card with a lower end display

To me FreeSync seems like one of those things where if you don't have it you don't notice it, but once you do have said thing it's hard to go back.

Just like SSDs, once you take the plunge you will never go back to a mechanical as a main drive.
