B-die DDR4 latency tuning,

Improved CPU cooling solution(s),

Insight re: self-optimizable kernel, POP!OS, & CachyOS……?!

Vs. Included POP!OS (AMD optimization) methods, and optional methods — unified approach, else SOP.

advice on gaming in Linux. (Variety of newer and OLD titles, including from Blizzard ent. & Windows-only, & GOG, SIMs & peripherals) 1080P/144Hz. No issues so far

— Curve Optimizer all core neg. ~12 & exploring.

Patriot Viper 4400@ Fclk:Mclk 1:1 1900 (seems, max, for my XT) some careful latency trimming….

… I’m around 78 to 84 deg. C under full-load heat-soak (4.8 GHz++ all-core stress) with the ‘Spire humming (OK)….

Seeking either a Noctua top-flow, or maybe BeQuiet!TF2, or modify the PRISM with 120mm or 140mm Noctua Redux fan…., or, utilize a double-tower with one or more Redux’s. (Open-rig)

B550 ‘Hawk, RM850e PSU & lil’ Radeon6500XT 4GB. Gen4 NVMe.

Update:

Gaming GREAT in pop!os. For example. (After system tune):

cosmic\performance mode

Steam launcher\settings\properties\(terminal for launch-script)*

  • *Ie: mangohud, & its parameters, FPS CAP, set Vulcan as driver, GAMEMODE (even more system-tweaks than ‘performance’?), so far…
  • In-game graphics settings Highest texture, 16xTAA, othersHigh/ Med & a few low/zero options. Scaling options (0,1,2 toggle) equate to ‘preset’ %75,%90,%120 resolution multiplier… still looks VG & lower value helps EVERYTHING.
  • Some options leverage CPU headroom, while many soon lead to over-taxing my (navi24-6500 OC(!))
  • Found what looks Great :+1:t4: with near-zero performance loss.

Now: (MangoHUD displays)

Pegging 141 FPS (chosen) @ 6.7 to 7.9 ms frame-times…. Air & Land (benchmark loops)

Lows of 120 -ish FPS

Kissing %100 GPU, but generally %77-ish.

3.7-ish GB VRAM, settles around 3.5GB.

GPU 2780-ish MHz, with about 83 W, 60 deg C

GPU not even tweaked: fans barely spinning.

CPU !! Peaking bursts @ 5.150 GHz

CPU temps below 57 deg C

Total system power 120W
