So Ubuntu installes flawlessly on my old laptop but refuses on my new gaming PC. Any good distro that works on my hardware? I5 6500 3.2GHz, gtx 1070 ti, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd, motherboard is gigabyte h110m-ds2

Is your mobo firmware updated? Did you try BIOS mode instead of UEFI mode?
If Ubuntu fails to install due to firmware quirks or driver issues, other distros may fail too. In the hopes that updates for quirks/drivers were included, did you try the bleeding-edge 19.04 (disco dingo) daily build? (Beta image is coming Mar 28)

@GardenData61371, you currently have 9 total threads (8 open ones) asking for linux distribution opinions. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but you do not reply to people in the threads you start.

Seeing that you have a 1070ti my guess is you need to add nomodeset to the boot option temporarily in order to install.
