So I really like firefox but this latest version keeps crashing on me, like more than usual what with my OVER 9000 tabs open
but these crashes were unrelated to 32 bit problems, so I decided to give waterfox a try and so far it works great, being 64 bit is a plus too.

what?

I read a lot of manga okay.
200 newegg tabs don't help either...
that's nothing. i've caught it using about 4 gigs
to be fair that was before I switched to waterfox, a 32bit program can't really use more than 2GB of ram

Firefox 23 64-bit on GNU/linux, fast as fuck, stable as a rock, 6 releases further down the road than waterfox:
Only 347 MB of RAM with 5 tabs open, including teksyndicate and several drupal admin sessions... with a ton of add-ons/plugins...
I guess firefox is not your problem, but Windows is...
His firefox was crashing because he had bad ram. Wahpwhap.
Just started using Waterfox because of this thread. It's probably the fastest browser I've used so far. It does seem a little rough around the edges though. transitions between pages are fast, but they're not so smooth. It's like speeding up to 100 mph in a car and then slamming on the brakes, lol.
I still like it though. The only real problem I have is that for some reason my middle click isn't opening pages in different tabs in this browser for some reason.

Mozilla does have an unofficial 64-bit nightly build for windows.
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/
nightly from mozilla is my recommended 64 bit browser
mozzila is ending 64bit nightly's
... on Windows.
There never has been an official stable 64bit Firefox for Windows, too.
Compiled adons for Windows are 32bit most of the time.
Compiling Firefox on Windows is a huge PITA.
And here I am running a stable 64bit Firefox with compiled Adons... on linux. If you want a good browser, choose a good operating system first.
Its okay guys, he switched to Chrome
