After Killing Your Console Do You Think you could ever go Back?

Killing a console for a PC is like killing your bike for a car, get the logic?

I'd still have one handy, if it's working.

I agree with Destroyed. The only reason i will be keeping my console around is to play Halo, as it's the game I grew up with.

NOPE!

I cant say I have given up consoles since I still own some older ones and a 3ds that I play a good deal. I couldn't ever really go back for my more hardcore fix though.

Many of the games that I play are cross platform, so I don't see why I would play my games on my xbox. I'd also have to pay an extra 60 bucks for no reason whatsoever. I keep the xbox around for game nights and things like that, but other than that, it collects dust.

  • Their be a new xbox in 2016 to compete with the new Nintendo console. ( high hope's otherwise consoles will be a deadzone sooner than expected.)
  • Even, so im a console gamer untill 2012 but still rooted into me.
  • The xbox 720p and the playstatshion 4, both should of came out back in 2004-ish but realisticly 2009-2011 with the way they have marketed it.
  • With most people in the UK my age ish, the general ider is to genuinely wait till near the end of 2014 when the xbox 720p's price get slashed open, since the way they make money from gold and DLC more than recover's the lose per console.
  • The ps4 turn's out to be the better console in the long run in short but with their dogey marketing as-well as copying Microsoft's ider's to squeeze what they can out of their customer's with their not so bothered software update's, just make's it a bad choice.
  • Now I make a huge amount of pocket money building PC's since both company's basicly want you to tickle their balls and spit in your mouth.
  • People need to point out the crap their pulling rather then trolling repeating history, This will stop them from rinsing through the fund's to push unfinished game's out to compensate the troll's.
  • Funny though if you have a open mind about this all with the massive update's to fix the game's, witch circle's back to Internet provider's making anther dip when you download 21gb for deadriseing3 fix.
  • All in all 2016-2017 is judgement for console's witch will make a difference to all game's produced after. ( Funding. hype and so on for AAA game's )
  • I could be wrong and the judgement has already been made but personally and most other's who I know of give it till 2016-2017 for it to be settle'd.

the only reason for me to go back would be if literally all my friends played one game such as halo

I tried and couldn't do it really. I went back and i can enjoy bad company 1 but thats only because i love that game to death and its exclusive. But every other game i could not stand. In most instances its not even graphical wise in terms of detail and whatnot like displayed in the battlefield 4 video up above, I have a powerful enough PC to play any game on max settings basically and i do but i could play on low easily, my issue with the "graphics" of console is the god awful resolution and the bad framerates. Thats not to mention more expensive games and paying for online (though i owned both the 360 and PS3 and i can say without a doubt xbox live was a much superior experince to PSN).

If exclusives were really good and the resolution/FPS was standable i might consider getting one of the new consoles, but at the moment i have no interest.

I've always played both. Graphics don't really matter, it's about gameplay and the games themselves. I love handhelds and they do something that a PC simply can't: providing good games on the go with a device that literally fits in your pocket. Consoles like the Playstation, the XBox and the WiiU only remain interesting to me because of exclusive titles. If I could play Final Fantasy, Kingdom hearts, The last of us, etc. on my PC with a controller or M/K then I would do so. But that will never happen, so I bought a PS3 in the end. And I will buy a PS4 as soon as a must-have exclusive title gets released. I'm really happy that the Xbox consoles usually don't have any really interesting exclusive titles, so I never had to buy one. I would still buy handhelds even if the games got a Pc release though, it's just convenient for long bus- or trainrides.

The only time I console game anymore is at a friends house. Much easier and quicker than setting up a LAN just for a couple rounds of bf or whatever. That and for the Forza games. PC still has yet to release a game comparable. The only console I own anymore is a Wii, <3 my nintendo titles. =P

When I built my PC I took my xbox to the gun range and shot the shit out of it. So no I can't go back to consoles.

I use my PC for general gaming, and my Consoles for Exclusive titles.

That's the way it should be.

Well that's the dev/publishers fault. It's really not that hard to release it on pc too but they rather don't because of contracts and whatnot. I've been wanting to play something like Gran Turismo 2 (which I played on the first PS) on the pc, but it just doesn't happen. And I'm not going to buy a gimped machine (it can really only play games, the rest is irrelevant for me personally) just to buy 1 or 2 games... I'd rather play something else then. But I still want something like Gran Turismo or Forza on pc! But buying a console for a few exclusives? Waste of money >.> (unless you only or mainly want to play those ofc)

There is a reason they call certain games "system sellers". For the big consoles I always wait for one of those exclusive games that I just HAVE to play, then buy the console. That's usually after the first or second price drop as well. Even if I buy a PS4 just for a single game at first there are usually more, really good exclusive titles coming. It may seem like a waste of money at first, but looking back I don't regret buying a PS3 or a 3DS or a PSP.

For me it was not so much the graphical beauty of PC that converted me. I do play a few very pretty games but mostly I play relativity low end quirky games, not some much for the graphics as for the game play. That said when I do play them I really appreciate a good looking game.

The switch for me came with the lack of ability. The console could not do what I wanted it to do and what it should be able to do. The features were either being removed one by one, broken or "improved" all of which resulted in a drastically sub-par user experience. The PC offered the ability to either have what I wanted or a method to get to it.

As for the going back to console. Never. I still have my PS3, it sits behind the living room TV and is used exclusively for Netflix. There are game from the PS3 that I really miss that ate not available on the PC and there are friends I regret not being able to play with any more but the PC is just a much better place to be for me.

Once I finally upgrade, then that's it, no more console for me

R.I.P. Sony

You brought me up into gaming

I would go back if I ever thought my PC was not fulfilling my gaming needs. Or when I have a family, N64 gaming with the family was definitely fun for me when I was but a Wee lad.

I missed playing on my PS2. Just don't have the time and a nice spot to set it up. Even my PS3 needs a bit of TLC after being in bits for almost a year. Might start reviving it after I have that spare money.

Screw PC gaymen for taking out my console morals. /s

I keep my old consoles around (gen 6 and back), but it will never cross my mind to go back to "current gen" consoles

After I Heard Persona 5 was coming to PS3 I Raged alittle, than had a Feel, Now I need to save up and buy a PS3 cause i didn't have one to play it on cause that was one of the best JRPGS i've ever played. I actually Bought a Vita Just to play Persona 4 Golden.
