Advice on what to change on PC build

I am really hoping to buy a brand new computer soon. I just wanted to ask what everyone's opinions on my parts are. I'd really love to hear improvements:
CPU: i5 4690K socket 1150
Motherboard: MSI Z97 guard pro
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti Low Profile
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Black
PSU: Corsair HX850i 80 plus platinum
DDR3: Kingston Hyper X Fury 2x8gb 1866Mhz
CPU cooler: Deepcool Neptwin
SSD: Kingston Hyper X 3K 240gb
HDD: Western Digital Green 1TB
Then just a few corsair af140 fans for the case.

I think the power supply I've chosen is too powerful for the build but the corsair website suggests that it is most efficient at 50% load so I'm not sure. That and I want to see if I can get a bette GPU. But I don't to spend any more than what is on this list.
Thank you very much!

I'm not one to talk, but an 850 watt PSU is massive overkill. A 550-650W would be plenty for this build and leave room for a GPU upgrade.

If this is for gaming only change the 16 gig ram to 8gig. there would be more room for the gpu

Again, if it's for gaming use a WD Blue instead of WD Green, Blue is 7200rpm instead of the Green being 5000rpm

If you are looking for performance right now instead of upgradability and performance that you might get in the future, then you are better off getting a cheaper, locked i5 and an h97 board with an 8gb stick of ram (don't actually need the dual channel bandwidth in-game and getting a single 8gb stick will cut prices and still allow for maximum upgrade in the future), and then the best gpu you can get. I would suggest looking at AMD for price:performance in the gpu world. Something like the 280x would be able to handle pretty much anything at 1080p. Also, if you go with a locked cpu, you wouldn't need an aftermarket cooler either. Until you get well past the price point you are looking at for gpus, the difference between a cheaper i5 and the K version will be minimal at best and nonexistent at worst.

Ok I've swapped out the psu to a 750w.
I am still looking for upgradability though. Would it be worth getting a smaller ssd for the exchange of a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4GB??

Also, I found some g skill ripjaws ddr3 that is 2400Mhz for $10 more. Is it worth it?

For a gamer YES. Hard drives are cheap and work well enough for games on PC's.

$10 is not much why not if its faster. Gskill is a good brand name.

I am going to have to disagree with Marten here. I have a 240gb ssd, and I don't think that I could go back to an hdd or even move down any space wise. That size allows me to load up games that I am playing frequently onto it (one week it will be GTA V and the next week, it will be Pillars of Eternity, etc).

As for the ram, you aren't likely to notice faster ram in any noticeable sense. It wouldn't really affect gaming, and unless you are doing something really memory intensive, you won't notice it out of game either, so it is kind of a waste of $10.

As for the 960 4gb, I think that the 280x is it better deal in that price range (the Vapor-X is ~$200 right now on newegg, which I think is a great deal, and you should definitely take advantage of that). The 280x can max pretty much anything at 1080p and pretty well stomps the 960.

I'd go with something like this.
