Advice needed for OC'ING 5600g & 6700xt

i really need some advice on setting both

clocks & voltage on both my 5600g & 6700xt

on my aorus b450m mobo

right now both are in ther default mode with no tweaking

my current build is a

amd 5600g

arctic freezer II 120mm

gigabyte aorus b450m

power color fighter 6700xt

32gb of 3200mhz crucial

2 x SK Hynix Gold P31 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 1x vi pci adapter

6 x noctua 3000rpm fans - 2x 140 top exhaust 1x 120 rear intake 3x 120 front intake with aio in
pull config

seasonix gold plus 650w psu

im currently running pop os 22.04lts with xanmod an corectrl installed

screengrab of specs

id like some step by step on best starting point for oc’ing with these controls

an if anyone’s got i detailed step by step for setting the igpu from the bios

ie what settings an step to do an not fck’it up as im very new to tweaking a 5600g an dont want to

tank my build

fyi i dont want to oc to much because of the limited aio cooling id prefer to

oc the cpu to 4.1 an no high for now an set the igpu to no high then 1600

till i have better aio cooling for both the cpu&igpu i dont want or need any turbo functions

some step by step with details an setting names would be nice better would be screen shots of

this cpu an mobo an the steps used

Static OC is a thing of the past mostly

In bios, usually under advanced>AMD Overclocking PBO/Precision boost over drive
Set to advanced

Set power limit to motherboard

If you prefer is single/few core boost speed
Set frequency override to +200mhz
Set curve optimizer for CPU to -6
Test extensively
Raise that value by 2 each time
You might get up to -16 but probably not much further than that

This raises your max single/few core boost
So test with single/few core loads

If you rather maximize your all core freq vs single

Set freq override to -200mhz~500mhz
Set CPU curve optimizer to -10
And do both all core and single/few core loads and raise by 2 on Curve

The reason you lower the max boost for all core is

The single core bins are like 600mhz faster than all core

Your single core boost might get unstable while you still have headroom on all core

The frequency override will affect single core boost first
So closing the gap between single and all core boost bins raises your overall headroom

Example -14 curve might work at 4.3ghz, but your single wants to boost off a cliff to 4.8ghz
-500mhz brings the single core back down to stable

By the way there is no possible way to fuck up the CPU with this method as it involves undervolting, worst thing to happen is a bios rest or MAYBE a OS reinstall
But both are the norm for OC

Also, do note that OCins is mostly dead these days because Intel and AMD bin their CPUs too much and the margin for overclock is so narrow that the headache you get from the OC is usually not worth the stability issues and the single digit performance you get (usually).

These days sadly, the answer to getting the most of out of CPUs and GPUs is to buy the higher tier model.

For GPU, can’t speak for the igpu mostly but 2300mhz is the most you’ll get, maybe 2400

For 6700, set it for 2750mhz and bump it up by 25Mhz each time

thanks

weres that setting is the the one below the CPU curve optimizer
that is called manual cpu oc
with the manual gpu oc below it an were it says custom pstates o
whats the diff between id 19 & 20 i have no idea what either is

no that’s the wrong menu
I’ll take some pictures after pytorch (fails) building

You’ll also have the curve menu, mine doesn’t because this particular PC has 3000 series chip in it

id like some help understanding all the setting under the advanced tab in my

aorus b450m its got the latest bios update an is now running with a 5600g & 6700xt

if its possible to run with the 6700xt as the dedicated gpu but still have to igpu enabled , if not ok but id like to know for this mobo an cpu an gpu combo what all the

settings an options do an mean as ther not all in the Manuel ,do any of the Manuel amd gpu overclocking setting effect my 6700xt from the mobo

an how do i sett the infinity fab setting for my cpu an ram

this is my current gear setup while im working on my 12core build

LITTLE BEAST 2023 redo

Yep

You can do the other stuff as well it’s a bit late in the night at the office and I have an ASRock board here, I’ll get on a gigabyte board and walk you through the bios

that kind of step by step would be great thanks

thats the best way iv ever learned so thanks

my overall reason for needing this detail an assurance is my budget is very tight an the parts i buy to do a build with really need to be at most

stuck with an not nerf’ed by me not knowing well enough on how to use them

overall ie not constantly returning for a different part.
