I just picked up an Asrock Steel Legend 7900 GRE. After install it, I noticed that every single full-screen application will force my monitor to 72hz. Switching it to windowed mode will return my monitor to 160hz and sync will work as expected. This happens with every full-screen application I’ve tested so far.
Checking lspci verifies that the amdgpu driver is in use. I have also uninstalled all the nvidia drivers. At this point, I can only assume that I’ve done something wrong here, as I haven’t been able to find any relevant information for the past 4 hours now. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Before switching, I was using a 6600xt and offloading all my 3D applications to my 3080. This worked perfectly fine, and honestly surprised me with how plug and play it was.
