Good day everyone. my friend bought this laptop for black Friday but it seems to be under performing for some reason. Does anyone know why the utilization of the GPU is so low?
All the performance settings acer has were enables. max fan speeds to ensure maximum cooking and max power draw. All the temperatures seem to be good so I am not sure why it would be performing this way.
It has 13% usage in Dota2 only.
A older model with a GTX 1660 performs better?

Just to confirm, there aren’t any limitations set in-game nor NVIDIA’s control center? And have you been running the game, while plugged in?
Whilst I don’t have that information while writing this, this might help a bit.
That would include things like power-envelopes. Although I would think that those should automaticly be done by the ACER’s software. Can you still check those?
As it is a gaming laptop, those might be enabled to extend the batterlylife.
I am not familiar with dota as a game, but these things might be worth cheking to be sure.
But if it isn’t this exact issue, at least you have checked it.
