A Short History of Nearly Everything

Anyone read this amazing book? Thoughts?

Just went out and picked it up, I let you know when I finish, thanks for the recommendation!

It's a great book, read it in a week.

Reminds be abit of A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking. At least the start so far

Never read it, is it a good read?

I've read both of those. Bryson is hilarious - he has a talent for being simultaneously entertaining and humerous. Hawking is brilliant in a different way. His book is a lot more in depth, but perfectly readable, even by the layman. Bryson is more like history. Both are awesome.

I got it as a present when i was 12 or 13, i just keep reading it.

I have it on audio book. Was a great read. Really enjoyed the section where Bryson talks about Lead and CFC's.

I would love to read this!

It is well worth a read, Bill Bryson goes into some big science and presents it in a way that the lay person can understand, well after a couple of reads in some places. I bought Home after reading this book and enjoyed that equally.

This is on the top of my list of non-fiction books to get. Can't wait!

Have you ever read "Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman!"? It's a great, really funny book, and I highly reconmend it if you liked a short history of nearly everything
