A Good But Cheap Gigabit Switch

I am looking for some advice on some gigabit switches. So far i have found a few i like but i also want to keep the price down. I want either a 5 port or 8 port.

Currently considering:

I like this model because it has solid reviews and a large buffer i believe.

Please help me make a decision. FYI i am not that good with networks.

That looks to be a fine little switch for the money.  So long as you don't need any features, it should work perfectly well.  I've been using a couple little netgear gs105 switches for 7 or 8 years now with no problems.  You don't need to spend a ton on a switch to get good performance.  At least not for home use anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I will most likely be getting that one then.

If you want a switch that'll do VLANs and such later on, I have an LGS308, its fantastic. You can get it for between $80 and $100 on Newegg or Amazon, the price varies from day to day.

If he needs VLANs for whatever reason he can just get the e version which is 36 dollars on e-bay.

That's OK I do not need those features. I just need to them to be quick and reliable. All it needs to do is act as a switch. No fancy features because its for simple home use.

Newegg Flash has cheap switches all the time, here is one now http://flash.newegg.com/Product/N82E16833127505?icid=WP_0_01052015

Perfect! thanks i will pick one of those up.

not sure if you bought one yet newegg has on for 29.99 with $10.00 rebate  (if you are into them)
