802.11ac PCI 32-bit

Hello,

My pfSense box is old, and only has 3 PCI 32-bit lanes. I am looking for a PCI 802.11ac wifi card. So far all I can find is PCI-Express and USB.

Does anyone know if USB wifi card-thingies are configurable with pfSense to set up as a wireless access point? It's not what I would prefer to do, and nor have I checked the USB specifications on my pfSense box. Might not be fast enough.

I don't think pfsense supports ac at all at this time. So you'd have to use external AP to get this to work.

Yeah pfsense doesn't even work with the n wireless standard, it certainly won't work with ac. You're much better off using an external access point.

Thanks
