I've read that 775 coolers fit on a 1156 socket. 1156 has the same mounting holes as 1155, and finally 1155 has the same mounting holes as 1150. But they say 775 won't fit on 1150 mobo, did anyone test this? I would check my self, but i have no 1150 boards atm, and i want to know if i should buy a new cooler right away? i have a CM v8 sitting on a 775 board and I'd love to know if I could still use it on my new 1150 build.
Nope, not quite.
Socket 775 mount is 72mm on centre of the mounting holes.
Socket 1155/6 is 75mm on centre of the mounting holes.
Socket 1150 is also 75mm on centre of the mounting holes.

Good idea to check the Intel documentation xd, didn't think of that. Thanks a lot, so the guys that did manage to get them on probably widened the holes on the heat sink brackets.
