$600 Gaming/Editing PC

I see that you are buying the win 8 oem. Doesn't that mean that you need an optical drive to install it?

I have an external usb dvd drive I will be using. Figured I would save the $14 and put it towards something else as I will only use it once or twice.

If you're working with Adobe Creative Cloud stuff it would make sense to get an AMD card due to the OpenCL acceleration being better than CUDA. Still though, I find AMD cards work better when there's a budget in mind. The 7770 has some really nice performance considering the price you pay. Even cheaper if you do some searching on eBay.

If I got the 7770, I would have to get win 7 (which I prefer win 8) because the simulator I play, due to its age, has driver issues with amd cards and uefi mobo's and will not play. NVIDIA cards, however, have no problem. Otherwise, I would get a 7770.

Hmm, that's interesting. It's weird that it would have an issue like that. You could probably find some good deals on last generation Nvidia hardware through eBay.

I a big fan of purchasing slightly older, but higher end hardware from a previous generation if you have an issue with price. Those are just a few recommendations. But obviously there's no issue with buying something current and new. :D

Yeah, I think it is just the game getting old (it had been out for 12 years now, but as long as it works I am going to play it, as I grew up playing it and made many memories from it). I might look into that 560ti. I would assume it would beat a 650ti boost. Also I was thinking of getting an 8800gt, as that card has been proven to have no issues in windows 8 with thagt game, but I also might start playing modern games on my pc (I am more of a console gamer). What do you think would preform better, that 650ti boost or the 560ti?
