£500 Gaming Computer HELP PLEASE

I am currently looking to purchase a new computer around the £300-£500 mark. I am going to by the parts myself and build it with my friend. He has enough experience to do the job so I am not worried about that. The thing I am worried about is getting the best I can for my money. I want to be able to play games at fairly high detail. But it doesnt have to be fantastic as I only have a 720p monitor of resolution 1680 x 1050. My friend has recommend me buy these components but I feel that buying a graphics card is important if I want to get the best out of my money. Here is a list of what he is telling me to buy:

Ezcool 727-03B Piano Black  with Ezcool 500W PSU
Gigabyte GA-F2A75M-D3H sFM2 Motherboard
AMD A-Series A10 5700 Black Edition FM2 CPU with Heat Sink Fan
Corsair Memory Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3 1866 MHz CAS 9-10-9-27 Dual Channel
1TB Western Digital Caviar Green SATA III - 6Gb/s Hard Drive -
HDD Samsung SH-224BB/RSMS 24x DVD±R, 8x DVD±DL, DVD+RW x8/-RW x6, x12 RAM, SATA, Retail Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM Operating System

It all equates to £376 Is this the best I can get with the money I am willing to spend, taking into account FPS in game and so. Also, should I get windows 8 instead of windows 7, taking into account I also have a Windows 8 phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, If you need to email me you can at

Thank you all so much!

You can get so much more for your money with £500. I would not reccommend going with an APU solution for a that type of budget, I would also reccommend holding off windows 8 for now and just going with windows 7. Here is a fairly good build for the money:

I haven't included the OS in that price, but if you want me to I can.

yea i need it to come to around £500 including the OS, thank you so much for the solution

Also does the casing need to be as expensive as it is, I want to put the most money into the GPU such as the NVIDIA 660 or Radeon 7870

You can cheap out on the casing to a certain degree, however if you are going to I would reccommend going with a case that has routing holes and also making sure that later down the line you spend a good £70-£100 on a good case like a fractal design define r3 or r4. When you have a good case you will realise how useful it is.

Okay then, is it possible to get that graphics card and everything together down to only £500 including OS or am I supposing the impossible? I am a real noob when it comes to this and I am very frugal with my money which probably isnt the best combination as it takes me a while to choose what I want to do

To get everything down to £500 including OS would mean cutting down on things like the motherboard and cpu, If you want to get the same things for a lower price I would reccommend buying some things like the GPU and case (maybe) second hand on these forums or on ebay.

The phenom X4 is still a great cpu, and this is under 500, with OS. I wouldn't say going with a phenom X4 is cheaping out, it still performs outstanding.

rockmanandash could you link that again because the link you sent has nothing on it

You can replace windows 7 with win 8 if you want.

Could always go with a 7770 instead of a 7850 to save some cash and drop your case down by £10 or £20 and then you won't be too over-budget with an OS
