Hey, so I just bought this StarTech USB 3.0 to IDE 40/44 pin converter/adapter, and it doesn’t even work. I’m looking for alternatives/recommendations.

it’s not something silly like the drive having the slave jumper set rather than master?
Hey, really weird, I just got it working for/through USB 2.0.
I’m going to reboot and double check with 3.0.
Okay, so it looks like it’s pretty picky.
It wants the whole unit to be plugged in at the same time, NOT the adapter/converter FIRST, THEN the hard drive, rather the hard drive connected to the adapter/converter FIRST, THEN USB.
Quite surprised I did NOT encounter this/come across this last night when I was testing it.
Regardless, it works now, so I’ll be cancelling the return.
