Yeah, as you said at worse ABS or ESC(stability control) will be disabled, your brakes would turn into regular power brakes. You’d get similar results to this hack if something went wrong with the brake system such a sensor acting weird or the whole ABS control circuitry breaking. You could get the ABS to stop working just the same by reaching into a car’s wheel well and unplugging any of the four wheels speed sensors. These systems are designed to fail safely since cars are quite rough environments, with heat, vibration, water among other factors that are very hazardous to electronics so these equipments are designed to not fail catastrophically.
